What a night! On Monday, June 25th more than 250 people gathered for our second annual Serving Up Home, bringing together a whole host of MICHELIN Guide-recognized restaurants and chefs. This premier event raises crucial funds for our street outreach and transitional housing programs that serve street homeless New Yorkers.

The night began with a special champagne toast by board member David Picket with chefs Emma Bengtsson of Aquavit, Christopher Engel of Aureole, Carlo Mirarchi of Blanca, Aaron Bludorn of Café Boulud, Cosme Aguilar of Casa Enrique, and Melissa Rodriguez of Del Posto.
Guests were enchanted by bites of delicious charcuterie from D’Artagnan Gourmet Foods, fabulous cheese creations from Casellula, smoked salmon goodness from Red Rooster Harlem, and delightful spice from Somtum Der. Our special thanks to La Marca for providing the bubbly!
From there, it was on the main event, where six Michelin-starred restaurant partners wowed the crowd with deliciously prepared scallops (Aquavit), Waygyu tri-tip (Aureole), toasted milk gelato (Blanca), octopus veal terrine (Café Boulud), ceviche de pescado (Casa Enrique) and vitello tonnato (Del Posto).
Our wonderful partners at Thomas Preti catering rounded out the evening with extra special passed hors d’ouevres. All this while Ketel One Botantical was mixing up sincredibly refreshing summer cocktails!
But that’s not all. Waiting in the gallery space of the Prince George Ballroom were four superb chocolatiers to surprise and delight on the way home: Brooklyn Born Chocolate, Chocolat Moderne, Noteworthy Chocolates, and Voilà Chocolat.
From all of us at Breaking Ground, thank you to everyone who attended – we are grateful for each and every one of you for spending your Monday evening with us in support of people experiencing homelessness.
We express our endless gratitude for the amazing sponsors of Serving Up Home:
