Applications are now available for the lottery at Betances Senior Residence in the Bronx. Set to open later this year, Betances will be Breaking Ground's first Passive House building, a rigorous energy use standard that aims to maximize resident comfort while pushing us even further toward net-zero emissions.
Of the 152 total units at Betances, 78 studio and one-bedroom apartments are available through the NYC HousingConnect lottery system. All applicants must qualify for a HUD Section 8 project-based rental subsidy, and rents will be set at 30% of income.
The building features an onsite laundry room, fitness room, library, medical suite, a multipurpose room for tenant and community events, and a landscaped courtyard. Onsite social services will be provided by our long-time partners at the Center for Urban Community Services.
Applications must be submitted no later than August 9th, 2021.
