Street Outreach - 24 x 7 x 365 in Brooklyn, Queens and Midtown Manhattan
Engagement and counseling outdoors, where men and women live on the streets, to get them out of harm’s way and into the continuum of services that enable them to transform their own lives.
Transitional Housing - 299 Units, Manhattan & Brooklyn
Immediate, safe, shorter term housing, along with intensive onsite case management, provides individuals in the most precarious circumstances with the space, time and assistance they need to work on securing permanent affordable housing.
Permanent Supportive & Affordable Housing - 3,741 units
Through 20 permanent residences and 171 “Scatter Site” apartments - all with access to support services as needed - we provide the security that enables formerly homeless and low-income New Yorkers to make a lasting home. Each night, more than 4,500 New Yorkers sleep safe and secure under a Breaking Ground roof.
We are doing more than ever. We must, because homelessness in New York City remains at record levels – more than 60,000 people in emergency shelters, and nearly 4,000 more on the streets. With your help, we can continue to grow our impact, making significant progress on over 1,000 new units of supportive and affordable housing in development to serve the most vulnerable New Yorkers. Together, we can continue to build a city where all New Yorkers have the opportunity to live with dignity.
