Project Welcome MAT Microsite RFP

Background

In 2023, Breaking Ground launched a program called Project Welcome MAT, which aims to accelerate placements to permanent supportive housing for single adult clients of our street outreach and transitional housing programs. While our initial focus is to accelerate placements to housing that we own and manage, the program also aims to accelerate placements to any vacant supportive apartment. As we have continued to develop and implement this program, we learned that there is not a single, well-produced and easily accessible repository of information about the types of units and buildings that clients might be matched to through the supportive housing application process. In order to motivate clients to schedule housing interviews and pursue opportunities for vacant units, we aim to build a digital “look book” of permanent supportive apartments located across New York City.

Overview

Think a bare-bones Zillow or Apartment Guide for permanent supportive housing. (We do not need inventory management, leasing, account creation/communications, or other types of frills.)

Breaking Ground seeks website development and design expertise to develop a microsite to market permanent supportive apartments to potential end users – essentially, a lookbook/portfolio that displays units and buildings and their context. Though Breaking Ground is developing the microsite, Breaking Ground branding and brand recognition will not be primary. The objective is to deliver a site that shows off the variety, quality, and specific features of permanent supportive housing that is operated by a wide range of nonprofit organizations in New York City with the goal of helping potential tenants get to know a building before they go on housing interviews, make more informed decisions on housing placements, and ultimately access permanent supportive housing faster.

Proposals are due by December 9th, 2024.
